Jodi needs a final count today. If you don't let Jodi know today that you and your friends are going, you will not be going. She needs a number to get tickets and also make sure that there is enough seats in the vans that are going. If your friend has not been to an event this year they need to have a medical consent form filled out and SIGNED by thier PARENTS. You can get a copy by clicking the link or on the side bar. There is also a blank permission slip in the side bar if you lost the one that had all the info preprinted on it.

Just a reminder. The vans will be leaving @ 9am from the Connection Center (133 E. Chicago Blvd) and will be back around 1:30am Sunday morning. Let your parents know the pickup time.

Plans have changed alittle bit. Instead of having our own party we will be joining the rest of church at the "Fall Family Fellowship at the Dejonge’s" (477 N. Raisin Center Hwy.). Fun for the whole family! Hot dogs, cider, bonfires, hayrides, chili, games and much more!

Hey guys. We will be camping at the Covered Wagon Camp this year. This is due to the unfortunate closing of the Vine. If you click on the link there is a map with directions to the camp ground. We will be leaving at 4pm on Friday. And plan to be back at the Civic Auditorium by 4pm on Saturday. It will be a fun time. Let me know if you are coming so we can make the proper arrangments for lodging, food and transportation. You can leave it in the comments or call me.

Hey, because of nasty weather conditions we had to postpone our first study on Ester.. So all you slackers have a second chance on reading the first chapter so we can have a great discussion on it. Also because of the weather we had to cancel/postpone our Lunch date. If there is still interest we will plan another date to get together. Bring your ideas of fun activities to do to the next class time/devo time. Don't forget to get your parents to fill out this years emergency contact/health form.

Bottle Drive.

Well we had a pretty successful bottle drive this past weekend. In about one in a half hours of canvasing several neighborhoods, plus what the Blayers had in their basement we were able to raise $210.90 to go towards the mission trip. If it weren't for the potty break, we might have gotten a little more. We had some funny walkers before that break.

Toby Mac, Thousand foot Krutch, Family Force 5, Building 429, all in concert at one place.. Who wants to go see them March 16th or 18th. The 16th is at Northridge Church, very cool place. The 18th is at the Stratehan theater in Toledo. Please let us know.. We need to know as soon as possible so we can get good tickets. Cost 18 if we get enough people for a group rate, 22 otherwise.

Adventure Rock Climbing

We will be rock climbing this Saturday at the Adrian Training campus. Derek is in charge of all the information. He will be calling in the next couple of days to finalize the kids going as well as make sure you have all the proper paperwork done. I am looking forward to it.. It will be alot of fun.

The annual vine camping trip. It was a fun time. The theme was fear factor. The kids were really in to it. Everyone had a great time.. as you can see nobody really slept much that night either.

Everybody mark and clear their calendars, Devo time is coming.. These will be a monthly event so, every second Monday of every month set aside some time in the evening to attend. More info will be filtering down as to time and place so check back here..

The Youth team will be getting together soon to go over some plans for activities for the summer. Tenatively we are planing another camping trip to the Vine, a Kings Island trip during the Summer Jam.. I think that is what it is call. and Don't forget the Relay for Life..

Tonya is heading up a trip to Kelly's Inflatables. The Cost is 7 dollars for 2 hours of jumping fun!!! The fun starts at 8 pm and stops at 10 pm. Have your parents drop off/pick up at those times. Contact Tonya if you have any questions. I believe there is free ping pong and air hockey and the video games cost around 50 cents..

Youth Spotlight...

Announcing a new spot here on NewSong Crew. The Youth Spotlight. Here you will be introduced to members of our youth, learn some fun facts, and hopefully start getting the kids involved with the site. So Seth has gratiously agreed to be the first.

Seth, (18) is the middle child of 5 kids. He has two older brothers and two younger sisters. He is a homeschooled senior and has recieved acceptance letters to Concordia College. Would like to go to college but future plans are currently undecided. He currently works with/for Doc Flue and that is how he came to be part of our group. It is an interesting story you will have to ask him sometime. You might not know this but Seth actually lives in Ohio and is a Buckeye fan.

Perspective change

As thanksgiving is fast approaching, people start to think on things that they are thankful for. What are you thankful for?? I am sure that all of you could make a long list in the comments about what you are thankful for. I could. But, what if these things were taken from you. Your stylish clothes, skate board, xbox, your talent, or family, what if they were all gone. How would you feel now? Probably pretty crummy, frustrated. It would stink you wouldn't be very thankful anymore. But,Paul says this. These words come from a letter the Apostle Paul wrote to Christians who lived in Thessalonica. The Christians there faced circumstances similar to what we face today: An anything-goes society that made it difficult to stand apart from the crowd as someone who loved Jesus. And like us, the Thessalonian Christians must have faced times when they felt discouraged and frustrated. But Paul told them to give thanks in all circumstances.

How can you do that.. I mean you just lost the thing that you were most thankful for. God know that being thankful changes our perspective–it helps us focus on God instead of on ourselves. No matter what we’re going through, we always have a reason to be thankful to God.

Nov 13 after church we are planing a fun filled day of Raking Leaves for those in our community that need help.. Make sure to make plans to join us. More details to come but, we will be eating pizza @ the Blayer mansion before we head off for some fun. Stay tuned..

Nov 18 Friday; Jeff and Heather Bacus have asked to host a movie night. The time to get there is 7:00pm and pick up @ 11:00 pm. Bring 3 dollars a pop or snack (depending on your grade) and get ready to watch a movie. You will more then likely be eating pizza again..(can you get enough of pizza?) I know that Jeff has planned to use a projector for the movie so you don't have to worry about seeing the TV.

Hey guys.. Don't forget to find and bring a couple of pictures to class. Remember the pictures are of something that reminds you of the presence of God or things that you see God in.

Also, don't forget your commitment to helping a family with a Thanksgiving meal this year. We will be collecting money every Sunday up until the 20th. Right now we only have 4 dollars to the meal. If you don't have any money... ask your parents if you can do some work around the house for $$ or for food to donate towards the meal. Let me get back to you on the food though. I don't know the particulars of the plan right now. But, I will get back to you.

Make sure that your friends have them filled out or else they will not be going.. There will be NO exceptions. The forms should be made available online sometime tonight.
